Resiliency: Self-Care for People Who Are Supporting Others 
Whether you are a caregiver, advocate or health care worker, taking care of other people can take a toll on your own health. How do you care for yourself when you are spending so much time caring for other? How can you replenish your own energy to make sure you CAN care for others too? In this Community Conversation, Dr. Brad Lichtenstein identified common challenges to resiliency and strategies that anyone can use in these stressful times.

  • Identify common symptoms of burnout
  • Learn how to reframe your perspective in times of challenge and stress
  • Understand the difference between and importance of both parasympathetic and sympathetic systems and why all humans need rest to thrive

Speakers – 

Brad Lichtenstein ND BCB BCB-HRV is a naturopathic physician, author, speaker and former professor and clinical faculty at Bastyr University for over 25 years. Dr. Lichtenstein received his doctorate of naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University and is BCIA certified in general biofeedback and heart rate variability (HRV) biofeedback. Dr. Lichtenstein continues to facilitate in-person and online workshops for practitioners and the general public, and he speaks nationally on topics ranging from stress-reduction, mindfulness and health, mind-body approaches to healing trauma, and issues surrounding end-of-life.
